Dr M. Theodorou of European University Cyprus is among the best in Neuro-Oncology

Dr Marilena Theodorou, Lecturer in Radiotherapy and Radiology Oncology at the Department of Health Sciences at the School of Sciences of European University Cyprus, was elected a member of the Executive Board of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO) for 2018-2020. The Board includes seven other top European scientists in the field of Neuro-Oncology from 70 member states and her selection undoubtedly constitutes an honorary distinction and recognition for her work. At the same time, her success reflects on the medical world of Cyprus and on the country’s academic community.
 
The Executive Board of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology is the body that issues the guidelines for the treatment methods of central nervous system tumors. The aim of the Association is to promote cancer research in the field of neuro-oncology. Dr Marilena Theodorou is a specialist in brain tumors, metastases of brain tumors and childhood cancer. She was born in Cyprus and studied Medicine at the University of Leipzig in Germany. She carried out her specialization and worked at the University Clinic Klinikum Rechts der Isar at Munich's Technical University. She has a subspecialty in Radiosurgery and Stereotactic High Precision Radiation. Apart from her academic duties, she offers her services to the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center as of 2015.
