First Annual Workshop for Dual Use Marine Technologies

The main objective of this workshop is to bring together the providers and operators of marine technologies to share the latest developments and demands of dual-use marine technologies.

Advanced scientific tools can have applications beyond specialized research projects such as continuous environmental monitoring as well as for offshore security and protection applications. The Marine Monitoring and Surveillance sector is on a rapid shift towards more autonomous multi-purpose systems that bring new monitoring capabilities and new business requirements. At the same time, maritime operators face reduced operational budgets and more demanding requirements for monitoring environmental and security incidents. After a series of brief presentations of recent technological developments, participants will be able to discuss their views on the possible challenges and benefits of the above, as well as to raise technical questions.

The workshop is co-organized by the Laboratory of Robotics, Automatic Control and Decision Systems (Department of Mechanical Engineering and Science and Engineering of Materials) of the Cyprus University of Technology and the Maritime Institute of the Eastern Mediterranean.

The workshop will be held on 8-9 November 2018 at Amphitheatre 1, Building Tassos Papadopoulos.

Registration is free of charge.
