European University Cyprus success in the Competition “Students in Research –ΦΟΙΤΩ 2018”

European University Cyprus student, Nicolaos Petrotos, was awarded the First Prize, as well as a financial award for his thesis title “Training of special primary education teachers in the development and implementation of educational scenarios with the use of educational robotics”. The thesis was produced under the supervision of European University Cyprus Professor of Mathematics Education, Maria Meletiou-Mavrotheris.
 
The competition was organized in the context of the programme “Cultivating RTDI Culture” of the “RESTART 2016-2020” Programmes for Research, Technological Development and Innovation. Students were called to submit research projects carried out during their studies under the guidance of experienced researchers, according to the provisions of the Call for Proposals to claim awards and prizes from the Research Promotion Foundation. At the closing date, 38 research papers had been submitted by students of Cypriot academic institutions.
 
The scientific evaluation of the research work was carried out by foreign independent experts. Nikolaos Petrotos is a graduate of the Distance Learning Master Degree in Special/Inclusive Education. The award ceremony took place during the Researchers' Night at Limassol’s Carob Mill Complex.
