Four new Calls for Proposals for the Programmes RESTART 2016-2020

Four new Calls for Proposals are announced by the Research Promotion Foundation under the programmes "Integrated Projects", "Isles of Excellence", "Commercial Exploitation of Research Results", "Commercial exploitation of research results by enterprises".
 
(1) The “Integrated Projects” Program provides for the financing of multidisciplinary long-term cooperation projects focusing on one or more Focus Areas of one of the Priority Areas: "Energy", "Tourism", "Agriculture-Food", "Structured Environment and Construction", "Transport-Shipping" and "Health". The maximum funding per project can be up to € 1 million, while proposals to be funded will be selected through a combination of remote evaluation methods by two independent experts and evaluation by a Scientific Evaluation Committee. The deadline for submitting proposals is 11 January 2019 at 13.00.
 
(2) The "Isles of Excellence" Program aims to promote scientific excellence through the financing of cutting edge research projects. Projects funded under this Program will be funded under the following three Scientific Areas: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering, and Social and Human Sciences. The maximum funding per project can be up to € 250,000 for Projects in the "Life Sciences" and "Natural Sciences and Engineering" and € 150,000 for Projects falling within the "Social and Human Sciences". Proposals to be funded will be selected on a scientific scoreboard basis by two independent experts. The deadline for submitting proposals is 25 January 2019 at 13.00.
 
(3) The "Commercial Exploitation of Research Results" Program provides support for activities for the commercial exploitation of results generated by research activities in research organizations or other public and wider public sector bodies. The Invitation concerns Phase A of the Program, which supports the development of a business plan for the commercial exploitation of results that have resulted from the implementation of research activities carried out within the Cypriot Research Organizations or Other Public and Public Sector Bodies. It also supports preparatory actions for product development, business strategy development, promotion and funding sources. The maximum funding per project can be up to € 30,000. Proposals to be funded will be selected in priority order submission to the RPF (they are not subject to competitive procedures), provided that they are eligible for funding on the basis of a scientific evaluation by an independent expert. The closing date of the Call for Proposals is September 30, 2020, at 13:00, or until the Budget is exhausted.
 
(4) The Program "Business Exploitation of Business Research Results" provides support for activities for the commercial exploitation of results that have resulted from the implementation of a research project in an enterprise. This Call for Proposals concerns Phase A of the Program, which supports the development of a business plan for the commercial exploitation of results that have resulted from the implementation of a research project co-funded by the RPF in which the proposing company participated. It also supports preparatory actions for product development, business strategy development, promotion and funding sources. The maximum funding per project can be up to € 30,000. Proposals to be funded will be selected in submission priority order to the RPF (they are not subject to competitive procedures), provided that they are eligible for funding on the basis of a scientific evaluation by an independent expert. The closing date of the Call for Proposals is September 30, 2020, at 13:00, or until the Budget is exhausted.
