Presentation of "DELIVER" research project

On 20/11/2018 the Deliver research project was successfully launched at the Cyprus University of Technology. The project is coordinated by Golden Donkeys Farm, in collaboration with research institutions: Cyprus University of Technology and European University of Cyprus. The Enterprise ENTERPRISES / 0916/0083 - DELIVER project is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research Promotion Foundation.
 
Greetings have been received from Professor Fotis Papademas as coordinator of the research team of the Laboratory of Milk Science and Technology, Professor Dimitris Tsaltas on behalf of the CUT Board and Mr. Pieris Georgiades on behalf of the company Golden Donkeys Farm.
 
Deliver's goal is to produce low-processing milk powder, alternative to heat treatments, to produce a product that is substantially improved in its bioactive capacity.
 
The research project was presented by the post-doctoral associate of CUT Dr. Maria Aspri and the Associate Professor Apostolos Zaravinos from the European University of Cyprus.
 
Presentations were also made by the doctoral candidate of the department of Agricultural Sciences of Biotechnology and Food Science, CUT, Mr. Panagiotis Mousikos, on the use of donkey milk for the production of functional beverage enriched with probiotics and by Elias Hadjielias, Lecturer in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management, CUT, on good practices and prospects for innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises in the agri-food sector.
 
The event was attended with special interest by students, academics, and audiences interested in the donkey's milk and its properties.
